The British Council, Korea is now recruiting for a Senior Teacher to take on an important role in the management of the centre operation. This is an exciting new post in our recently-opened centre in the city of Incheon, Korea. It will be a challenging Senior Teacher role as the post-holder will be largely responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre: managing the teachers, working closely with Customer Services staff, and timetabling. The centre is based on an attractive university campus and the 6 classrooms, teachers’ room and reception area have just been refurbished and new equipment has been bought. This would be a good opportunity either for an existing Senior Teacher or as a promotion. This posts starts on the 25 October 2010.
To be considered you will have a first degree or equivalent, a Diploma level TEFL qualification (DELTA or equivalent) with at least 5 years’ full time relevant EFL teaching experience across a range of levels and ages. You will also have strong academic management skills and experience in developing pedagogic activities such as syllabus design, course planning or materials development in Adult and YL context.

Salary is paid in two components (Korean Won and Sterling) and the monthly salary ranges from 2,145,733 Korean Won and £708.00 GBP- 2,473,862 Korean Won and £816.00 GBP (Senior Teacher salary scale). The starting point on the 10 point scale depends on your qualifications and experience and prior British Council service.
