Senior Teacher Thailand

The British Council, Thailand is now recruiting for a Senior Teacher to take on an important role in the academic management of the Thailand operation. Depending on the successful candidate’s profile, the post may include particular emphasis on the management of training programmes, both external & internal, and the management of ICT initiatives. Additionally, you will lead on a variety of projects to support to the Bangkok management team. You will line-manage a number of teachers in the Siam Square Teaching Centre where you will be located, and also teach up to an average of 9hrs a week.

To be considered you will have a first degree or equivalent, a Diploma level TEFL qualification with at least two years’ full time post-Diploma EFL teaching experience across a range of courses and ages. You will also have strong academic management skills. Ideally, you will also have a YL extension qualification and be a CELTYL / DDELTA main tutor, and have experience in managing ICT as it relates to the delivery of ELT products & services. This posts starts in Mid July 2010.

The British Council Thailand can offer an excellent package for the right candidate, including flights from the UK to Thailand (or equivalent), baggage allowance, settling in allowance, medical insurance and home leave flights. Salary is paid in two components (Local Thai Bhat and sterling). Monthly salary ranges from 57,346 Thai baht and £520.00GBP- 75,857 Thai baht and £520.00GBP (Senior Teacher salary scale). Starting point on the 10 point scale depends on your qualifications and experience.
