Position Description
Native-English speaker with excellent Japanese skills sought to work in the Aichi office of an international marketing company. This is an in-house, full-time contract position (immediate start desirable). Responsibilities include proofreading, editing, translating and creating automotive-related materials. The successful candidate will work in a Japanese office environment as part of an international team. The salary offered for this position will be from to 280,000 to 330,000 yen/month (negotiable dependant on skills and qualifications).
Primary Duties
- Proofread, edit, translate and create automotive-related materials
- Improve product/service quality by providing clear, well-informed suggestions
- Participate in product training events for clients (dependant on skills and experience)
Prerequisite Criteria
- Native English speaker with a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
- Excellent knowledge of English writing conventions (grammar, punctuation, etc.)
- Interested in cars and familiar with modern automotive technology
- Japanese language skill equivalent to JLPT level 2 or higher
Desirable Skills
- Experience translating automotive-related documents
- Professional writing experience (please include any published examples of your work)
- Experience as a sales associate or sales manager for a major vehicle manufacturer
- Sales training experience
- Valid Japanese driver’s license
- Interest/experience in public speaking
