Position: Magazine Editor with design and writing skills
Working hours: Five days a week (Monday to Friday), 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Lunch: 12:00 p.m. ~ 1:15 p.m.)
Requirements
Native English Speakers
Thorough knowledge of DTP applications (Indesign or Quark, Photoshop and Illustrator,)
Must currently reside in Japan
Live within the Greater Tokyo Area
Long-term Worker (at least two years)
Remuneration: Initial Salary: \28,000 - \300,000/month, plus Transport and Bonuses (2 times per year)

Job Outline:
Editorial duties include editing, writing, rewriting, copywriting and proofreading.
Design duties include image manipulation, page layout, advertising artwork creation and post-production on Mac-based DTP applications.
Job Description: The successful candidate will be expected to oversee the design and content of two flagship publications at the same time. He/she should be able to manage a group of writers, freelancers and assistants, and review all assignments before publication to ensure material is accurate. He/she will have extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish publishing goals. They will perform a variety of tasks, and lead and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Basic editorial duties include editing, writing, rewriting, copywriting and proofreading materials that are including in the company’s publications: a 92-page monthly bilingual magazine and a 164-page English restaurant guidebook that is published twice a year.
Basic design duties include image manipulation, page layout, advertising artwork creation and post-production on Mac-based DTP applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Quark Xpress.
